How To Get Respect From Others

Video Transcript

Hi, I am Dr. Margaret Paul and I’d like to talk to you about respect. We all want to be respected by other people. Like my client Niguel, he complained to me that his wife wasn’t treating him with respect and since she is his wife he said she should be treating him with respect.

So, we did some work on what was going on with Niguel that was leading his wife to treat him so badly because in all relationships there’s a system and whether we like it or not, people end up treating us very much the way we treat ourselves.

So as we took a look at what was going on with Niguel, it turns out there is many ways where he was disrespecting himself. He let people walk all over him. He let people put him down.

He gave himself up at all sorts of situations. He didn’t take care of himself physically either. He didn’t eat well. He was overweight. He was not showing himself respect in a lot of different ways.

Now, whether we like it or not, we reflect how we feel about ourselves. We are actually telling people all the time how they should treat us.

So, if you really want people to treat you with respect then you need to learn how to treat yourself with respect. This is what the inner bonding process is about.

It’s about learning how to truly value who you are, how to love yourself, how to treat yourself in ways that are deeply caring and kind and respectful to yourself.

When you learn to do this, you will automatically be gaining the respect of other people. So I really encourage you to learn the inner bonding process. We have a free course at innerbonding.com.

We have a membership site that will support you in learning how to love yourself. We have often been taught to love ourselves. We have been told to love ourselves but not taught how to love ourselves.

Most people have no idea what that means. Why don’t you learn that now? Why don’t you learn what it really means to respect yourself, so that you can be gaining the respect of those around you?
